The curtains have come down once again at the Playhouse as we enter a second national lockdown.


We were one of the first cinemas in the country to safely reopen back in July, and have been so grateful for your support since then.

Our foyer doors may be closed for now, but lockdown won’t last forever. We have a difficult few months ahead of us, but we can't wait to welcome you back to enjoy the magic of cinema with us again.

You can continue to support us by purchasing e-gift cards for yourself, family or friends through our website here.
We would really appreciate it if you did.

This isn’t the end, it’s simply another intermission.
And we think 2021 might be a good year for film.

Refunds for cancelled shows

For bookings scheduled between Thursday, 5th November and Thursday, 3rd of December 2020

I bought tickets online with a bank card - can I get a refund?

Yes - bookings will be automatically refunded if you bought them online using a credit or debit card. We will start to process refunds from the 5th November. All bookings should be refunded to the customer's card before Thursday 12th November.

Because this cinema is in tier 3 we will not be allowed to reopen on the 4th of December. Any refunds for shows on the 4th - 15th of December will be refunded before the 4th of December.

I bought tickets online or in cinema with a gift card - can I get a refund?

Yes - once the cinema has reopened you will have 6 months to claim a refund. Just bring your booking number in to the cinema and speak to a member of staff who will be happy to swap or refund your tickets back to a new gift card.

I bought tickets in-cinema with a bank card - can I get a refund?

Yes - bookings will be automatically refunded if you bought them in-cinema and paid with a credit or debit card. We will start to process refunds from the the 5th November. All bookings should be refunded to the customer's card before Thursday, 12th November.

I bought tickets in-cinema with a gift card - can I get a refund?

Yes - once the cinema has reopened you will have 6 months to claim a refund. Just bring your tickets to the cinema and speak to a member of staff who will be happy to exchange or refund your tickets back to a new gift card.

I bought tickets in-cinema with cash - can I get a refund?

Yes - once the cinema has reopened you will have 6 months to claim a refund. Just bring your tickets to the cinema and speak to a member of staff who will be happy to exchange or refund your tickets for cash. If you need a refund before we reopen, we may be able to send it via bank transfer. Please email refunds@parkwaycinemas.co.uk to get started.

Benefits and membership expiry

What about my paid membership?

Your membership expiry date will automatically be extended for the equivalent time of our closure.

What about my member benefits that have an expiry date?

Any separate recognitions awarded to your membership scheme that had an expiry date will automatically be extended by the period of our closure.

Gift Cards & Vouchers

Can I still buy gift cards?

Absolutely! You can buy e-gift cards online at any time by clicking here. You can add a personalised message and schedule purchases to be sent at a later date as a gift to another email address - the perfect gift for any film fan.

What if my voucher expires during lockdown?

Any vouchers that expire during the time the cinema is closed will have their expiry date automatically extended for the period of our closure.

Other Questions

When will you reopen?

We hope to be able to show you some Christmas classics as well as new releases before Christmas, but we will be guided by national and local restrictions which are subject to change. Just as before, we will follow government guidance to ensure the health & safety of our customers and staff. Keep an eye on our website and social media for the latest information. We will not open any earlier than Wednesday, 16th December.
